I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's bout.
Former twice world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
